On March 5th, Meta Platforms, the company behind Facebook and Instagram, had a problem. Many people couldn't use Facebook or Instagram. A website called Downdetector.com showed that over 300,000 people said Facebook was not working for them. More than 20,000 people said the same thing about Instagram. Downdetector collects information from users to track when websites are not working.

Meta, the company that owns Facebook and Instagram, didn't say anything about the problem when Reuters asked them.
