There is a long list of movies with the compelling substance that did not receive the credit they deserved.

One explanation for this might be that some of these movies were well ahead of their time.

Here is the list of 5 films if they were to release today, they would have been blockbusters.

1. Go Goa Gone

Go Goa Gone

Go Goa Gone was a stoner comedy released in 2013 and was the story of 3 friends Luv, Hardik and Bunny who go on a trip to Goa, but that proves to be the biggest mistake of their lives.

Go Goa Gone was the first zombie film and Raj & DK just nailed it with their writing, but the film did not succeed as much as it deserved, but it is considered an iconic ‘buddy-comedy’.

If the film were to be released today, it would definitely have a big effect on pop culture.

2. Dil Se

Dil Se

Maniratnam directorial Dil Se was released in 1998 and failed at the box office due to the apparent lack of 'masala'.

Shah Rukh Khan was hailed as the king of romance after his 1995 all-time blockbuster DDLJ and he starred in Dil Se opposite Manisha Koirala which was a part of Maniratnam's Terrorism Trilogy.

The audience in 1998 was not ready for a film like that and if Dil Se was released today, it would have been another blockbuster in SRK's career.

3.Tumbbad

Tumbbad

Tumbbad was a Hindi fantasy film released in 2018 and told the story of a man who in the greed of achieving wealth, endangers everything that he has.

The film tanked at the box office but is still considered a cult and after the super success of Kantara, people were asking the makers to release Tumbbad again in the theatres.

4. Udaan

Udaan

Udaan was a coming-of-age film, which told the story of a teenager, who aspires to become a writer one day, but his father forces him to pursue engineering.

The film was directed by Vikramaditya Motwane and did not make big numbers at the box office, but today, the film would have outperformed many movies.

5. Raman Raghav 2.0

Raman Raghav 2.0

Anurag Kashyap directed this crime thriller and it was one of the most pivotal films in Vicky Kaushal and Nawazuddin Siddiqui's acting career as the film gained major critical acclaim and was nominated for several international film festivals.

Though Raman Raghav 2.0 flopped at the box office, it is still considered one of the most iconic crime thrillers ever created by an Indian filmmaker and with the craze of Vicky and Nawaz now, the film would surely be a hit if it was released today.
