Earlier, Shraddha Kapoor was preparing hard to step into the shoes of ace badminton player Saina Nehwal for her biopic film. But last month, the makers left everyone surprised by replacing actress Shraddha Kapoor with Parineeti Chopra. Now the 30-year-old actress is leaving no stone unturned to get into the skin role of the character. While Parineeti is excited to do the film, she also revealed that she is nervous too.
Parineeti Chopra has started her preparation for the Saina Nehwal’s biopic movie. The actress plays the character of the celebrated Indian badminton player and she is going through a difficult and tough training schedule for the same. In her latest interview with a daily, Parineeti Chopra revealed that her routine kick starts at 5 am every morning and she hits the badminton court with her trainer. The actress also expressed her happiness and excitement of working on her first biopic film that requires her to come out of her comfort zone.
Parineeti Chopra talked to Mumbai Mirror and said, “Preparation usually starts early because we have reserved courts in slots when there are no diversions of any kind. We start at 6 am and wind up by 8 am. I will have to live this disciplined life for the next nine months but I am pretty kicked about it. I want to do justice to the biopic film and to Saina Nehwal.”
She added that she has got a dedicated and wonderful team who is equally working hard to make her fit into the role.
Parineeti Chopra said, “This project is absolutely perfect for me. Amole (Gupte, director) sir and his team are confirming I have everything that I need. A great physio team and world-class players have been roped in to train and condition me.”
Parineeti Chopra also confessed that she is nervous considering it’s not a fiction film and the audience have got each and everything about Saina documented for comparisons.
She said, “Everything—how Saina Nehwal plays, who she has played with and against, every match she has been in — has been documented. It’s important to take in all that information and present it on screen. She told the daily, I’m happy but also very nervous.”
The biopic is probable to release early next year. Recently, producer Bhushan Kumar told the daily that they want to release the film in the year of the Olympics.
He was saying, “We want to wrap up Saina by this year-end for an early 2020 release, so going ahead with the project is a decision taken by mutual consent. We are glad Parineeti Chopra has come on board for the film. Saina Nehwal has made every Indian proud and we can’t wait to take her story to the world in the year of the Olympics.”
Shraddha Kapoor was chosen to play the lead in the film. However, she backed out because of it citing date issues.
