New Delhi-Varanasi route train-18 soon, distance of 755 kms will cover in eight hours, fare will be more than Shatabdi


The train-18, built in the domestic coach factory, is going to start soon. All types of safety clearances have been received for the operation of this train. Its rent is around 40-50% more than the Shatabdi Express. Officials said that they have contacted the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) for the purpose of launching the train operation by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. According to officials, Prime Minister can launch the operation of this train after the budget is presented. The first train will run between Varanasi from New Delhi. It is known that Varanasi is the parliamentary constituency of Modi. Officials said that the engine-approved train-18 got the final approval of the government’s electrical inspector on Thursday. He said, “We have asked PMO for the inauguration of the train operations on the New Delhi-Varanasi route.”

This month, Railway Minister Piyush Goyal said that the train-18 will run between New Delhi and Varanasi. This train will decide the distance of 755 kilometers in eight hours. The train will stop at Kanpur and Prayagraj on this route. At present, the fastest train takes about eleven to eleven hours to fix this distance. The fares of the executive class of this train will be between Rs 2,800 and Rs 2,900, and the cost of the Chair car will be between Rs 1,600 and Rs 1,700.

The train was built in the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) located in Chennai. Its operational test has been done under the supervision of Research Design and Standard Organization (RDSO), Lucknow. During the test the operation of the train at 180 kmph was successful. This train is capable of running at a maximum speed of 200  km.

Officials said that the train runs on electric traction like 18 metrol trains and it will start replacing the Shatabdi Express from next year.
