Here Are 8 Reasons Why Quitting Is The Best Option

Quitting is never an option.

Winners are not people who never fail but people who never quit.

Winners never quit and quitters never win.

These are just some of the many quotes you’re going to find on apps like Pinterest and the internet at large every-time you search motivation or something along the lines. It’s a fact that several experts have nodded their heads at, they say if you want to make something of yourself, or if you want to achieve a particular goal you’ll have to stay at what you’re doing. You’ve got to dance to the tune until you get good at dancing and you have to keep the faith until the sun comes up. While all of this is good and correct and definitely gives you the motivation you need to get up in the morning and start exercising, it doesn’t necessarily apply to all people and all situations. Sometimes quitting on something before it gets out of hand, or extracting yourself from a situation by backing out can actually be the right choice and can save you from losses and unhappiness. To help you better understand this, we’ve compiled a list of 10 scenarios where quitting is the right choice.

8. AN UNHAPPY RELATIONSHIP:

If the person you’re with is making you unhappy, you don’t have to prolong quitting on the relationship just because you don’t like the idea of quitting on something or someone. If the love between the two of you is gone and your partner has been distant for a while, it’s better to pack up and walk away than to live in the same space.

7. IF IT’S A JOB THAT’S BECOMING A SOURCE OF ANXIETY:

If the job you’re doing is creating problems for you, you don’t need to keep coming home angry and sad. If the source of your anxiety is a co-worker or a boss whose making things hard for you and you can’t find any way to overcome the situation you in. It’s better to find a place where you have peace of mind than to keep waking up every morning and walking into the same place you loathe.

6. IF IT’S A COURSE SOMEONE ELSE HAS PUT YOU IN AND YOUR HEART ISN’T IN IT:

If you’re getting a degree in something that isn’t close to your heart you have every right to walk away, this gives you the opportunity to invest your energy and money in something that will be a better fit for you and your talents, and by doing so you can invent a better life for yourself and can contribute positively to society in a way you could not have otherwise.

5. WHEN IT WILL HELP YOU REFOCUS AND REJUVENATE:

If quitting on a situation is making you happier and more focused, it’s definitely the right decision. Quitting is never an easy choice to make, it requires a lot of courage and its difficult for people to step out of their comfort zones and accept the fact that staying the situation they are in is going to keep making them unhappy and will eventually ruin them.

4. IF YOU’RE WORRIED ABOUT WHAT OTHER PEOPLE WILL THINK:

If your staying in a toxic relationship or are carrying on with a means to an end job just because you’re worried about people telling you that you’ve made a bad decision than its about time you took the step and ended whatever is causing your unhappiness. It’s hard admitting that you’ve made wrong choices but what matters is that you’re ready to correct them.

3. IT’S TAKING A LOT OF COURAGE:

If quitting is taking a lot of courage and thinking of it makes you excited about the future yet scared at the same time, you should know you’re making the right choice. Sometimes people find it difficult to walk out of difficult relationships or situations that are making them unhappy because its all familiar and they’ve gotten used to the lives they have. Beating routine takes courage, even if it sounds like it doesn’t, people often mistake attachment for love.

2. WHEN YOU’RE WORRIED ABOUT DISAPPOINTING OTHERS:

Your life ultimately belongs to you and while we have responsibilities and lives connected to our own, sometimes it is important for us to think selfishly. People often remark that quitting a job or a course makes them feel like they’ve disappointed themselves and the people that are closely connected to them. But being an adult means making difficult decisions and sometimes “difficult” translates to being a little selfish sometimes.

1. WHEN IT’S HELPING YOU COMMIT BETTER:

Sometimes quitting helps us get a better outlook on life in general and helps us better our approach and sharpen our thinking. Imagine making a wrong decision, and reflecting on it. The reflection will help you make a better choice next time.
